Xylosma congestum (Lour.) Merr. (1919). Basinym: Crotom congestum Loureiro (1790) p. p. excl. descr. fr .; China“pa tau”巴豆，“foeminei capsulae 3-coccae, pendulae”。显然是指“巴豆”而非本种。因模式标本不存，无法核实，Loureiro所指究系何物，故此基名不合法，不能用于Xylosma 。
